How would you describe All Peoples Community Center? All Peoples is an oasis that offers supportive programs and resources to a community that is underserved and under-resourced. For most, low-income families rely heavily on All Peoples to obtain educational opportunities and reach upward mobility through our programs. To ensure our clients reach these goals, it requires All Peoples staff members to uphold their clients with the utmost respect, dignity, and worth, they deserve.
Favorite Part of Your Job: The most satisfying part of my job is when my clients feel empowered. The ability to build rapport with my clients, gives myself the opportunity to accurately identify their strength and weaknesses; and assess their risk and protective factors to provide an appropriate referral for my clients. This also requires understanding and navigating systematic services and programs, and then conveying these resources to my clients. Oftentimes, this can be tedious process. However, it’s well worth the effort because once my clients feel invested and empowered, they typically gain the desire and stamina to achieve their goals, which gives myself much satisfaction in the work I do.
My Best All Peoples Story: My favorite memory at All Peoples was actually my first participation in their Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Seeing the overwhelming response from the community, local volunteers, and humbled staff members engaging and witnessing gratitude given by the community gave me a sense of belonging and happiness to work at All Peoples.
Hobbies: During my downtime, I genially enjoy spending quality time with my family. At home, I also find it a stress reliever to clean, reorganize, and decorate my home according to upcoming seasons or holidays. Yes, I love to stress clean! I also enjoy a good puzzle game!
Fun Fact About Me/Hidden Talent: I used to be in gymnastics.
Me in 3 Words: Outspoken, Reliable, and Dedicated
