How would you describe All Peoples Community Center: In my words, it is like home. It is an inviting place that really helps out the community. Most staff members are willing to go above and beyond to help out families. A loving and caring place.

Favorite Part of Your Job: My favorite part of my job is watching students excel in all areas. The smile they have on their faces when they are having fun, finally understand their homework, or learning how to do something new is the best thing of my job. The reaction they have when they thought they would never finish their homework and when they realize they did it, they jump up in excitement. The excitement they show when they learn to cook something new and realize it is not as hard as it seems.

My best All Peoples story: My best All Peoples story is when a grandma of one of the children from the After School Program came up to me and opened herself up to discuss family issues that were going on at the time. It was a family of 3 children and they were all enrolled in the After School Program. She had the trust to tell me about it and told me to look out for changes in their behavior and that she knew they might want to misbehave. She told me about it so that we could work together to help them understand the situation and let them know that it was not an excuse to misbehave. That people will be understanding but not tolerant to everything. She told me to help her out by seeing their behavior and if they did misbehave for me to let her know. By working together, we would help them through with the problem, we did and the children are well off. This motivated me and made me realize the impact we have in the children’s life and the real difference we could make to help out families.

Hobbies:Reading and baking

Fun Fact About Me/Hidden Talent: I like to experiment and try new things. If I do something wrong, I will strive to do it better no matter what.

Me in 3 Words: Patient, caring, and hardworking

We’re so happy that Karina is part of our All Peoples Family!
