All Peoples Community Center

How would you describe All Peoples Community Center?: All Peoples is a place that is all inclusive of all the Community around it. It is a place where people can gather and do activities that help them better themselves. Here people can feel at home and enjoy learning and teaching others.

Favorite Part of Your Job: To be able to impart the knowledge that I have learned on the Members of the Community. Having people learn how to use the computers and obtain the skills to succeed in this ever growing technological world is a joy.

My best All Peoples story: Last Christmas I was Santa Claus for the holiday party for All Peoples. It was wonderful to see how exited the children were to see Santa Claus. I wanted to do a good job and not disappoint the little kids. It all turned out very good. Some of the kids really did think I was Santa. I got to hand out presents and that felt great. It is wonderful to work here when you are able to touch so many people in the Community.

How would you describe All Peoples Community Center?: All Peoples is a place that doesn’t believe in turning people away. It assists everyone who enters through their doors and is the place that people turn to whether they are experiencing difficulties or want to be exposed to brand new experiences. It provides people with new opportunities that will serve as life skills and memories.

Favorite Part of Your Job: Interacting with community members. As a first-generation, I can relate to several of the people I’m outreaching. I see myself and my parents in each family that I speak to, and that’s what fuels my drive to raise awareness about available resources.

Jennifer Santos_Easter Carnival 2017

My best All Peoples story: It’s difficult to pinpoint one specific story as a favorite. As outreach coordinator, I have the opportunity to engage with clients before they begin receiving services at All Peoples. My best All Peoples stories happen every time I see a client that I met while outreaching, walking through our building and receiving services. I see these clients participating in classes, workshops, and several programs and it all started with a simple, “Hello, have you heard of All Peoples Community Center?”.

Hobbies: Writing, walking my furbaby, watching horror movies, and being a couch potato every now and then.

Fun Fact About Me/Hidden Talent: I have some training in boxing.

Me in 3 Words: Ambitious, Considerate, and Persistent.

How would you describe All Peoples Community Center?: All Peoples Community Center is a place for All People, especially families.  All Peoples is a pillar in the South LA Community and is regarded as a home away from home for everyone.

Favorite Part of Your Job: The favorite part of my job is our open door policy.  Being able to help anyone in any situation really makes me confident and happy about the services we can provide to All People.

My best All Peoples story: I sat down with and enrolled a Family of 10.  This family was especially unique because they were multi-cultural and most of the children were adopted.  The parents were experiencing some financial troubles so I registered them for financial literacy classes here at All Peoples.  Less than a year later the family was able to find over $800 in unclaimed money due to the information they received.  They were also able to save $1500 and pay off two family vehicles which increased their credit score by 80 points!  The family and I have an amazing relationship and it all started because of the service I was able to provide thanks to All Peoples.

Hobbies: I love to help others.  I also love to cook, paint and draw.  I love all the Arts.
