All Peoples After-School Program Activities

All Peoples After-School Program offers Youth a chance to let their creativity flow and sharpen their social skills. 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders attended cooking classes provided by Youth Coordinator Davida Rosado. We have a feeling that the best part for the Youth was taste-testing the sweets that they made!

All Peoples Middle and High School Youth are learning the technique of silk screen printing with our After-School Teen Youth Coordinator Erick Moreno. The first part of their lesson took place in the computer lab where they mapped out their creative ideas. Following the computer lab, Teens moved into the Art Room and copied their drawings onto fabrics.

Did You Know?

On February 24, 1947, Former President Ronald Reagan (pictured Center) was a guest speaker at our All Peoples Annual Bread and Water Banquet. As President Reagan spoke about the idea of “Americanism”, two slices of bread and cups of water were served for Dinner as reminder of all that we have to be thankful for. Ronald Reagan was a famous actor in Hollywood and had been invited to speak.

In 1950, Former President Reagan (shown below) returned to All Peoples to show support of our All Peoples girl youth group called Ebonaries. This girls group was developed to empower young women with leadership development skills. The girls were inspired by his encouragement.

All Peoples – Meet Our Team – Genesis Ramos

Let’s get to know Genesis Ramos, All Peoples Community Center’s Accounting Assistant:

Favorite Food: Tamales

Favorite Color: Yellow

Favorite Sports Team: Dodgers

Favorite Animal: Dogs

Favorite Quote: “We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take you.“

How would you describe All Peoples Community Center: All Peoples is a place filled with hope and possibilities. Every person coming into the center looking for help receive the best care that the dedicated staff have to offer.

Favorite Part of Your Job: My favorite part of the job is knowing that in a small way I am helping make a difference in people’s lives. The center has taught me many things, but I am forever grateful for being a part of such an inspiring organization.

My best All Peoples story: My favorite All Peoples moment would be at the Health Fair of 2018. My job for the event was to take pictures, and I had a really great time doing so. While I was taking photos, the kids wanted to interact with the camera. Many kids put on their biggest smiles and posed for their picture to be taken. It was truly inspiring to be holding that camera and capturing such pleasant moments. I was able to get some beautiful shots of staff and children.

Hobbies: Dancing, Reading, and Netflix (lol)

Fun Fact About Me/Hidden Talent: I don’t like to brag or anything, but I do know my way around a dance floor. I preferably like to dance to hip hop, but if there’s good music playing, you’ll see me on the dance floor.

Me in 3 Words: Soulful, Spirited, Compassionate

We’re so happy that Genesis is part of our All Peoples Family!

EVERYONE IN

All Peoples is honored to support United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Everyone In Campaign to help end homelessness!

“All Peoples Community Center is all in because daily we work with individuals and families who are in need of housing. They have few options available and are seeking shelter in their car or sleeping on the streets. We encourage all Angelinos to show compassion, because many of us may be just a paycheck or medical emergency away from homelessness.” – Saundra Bryant, Executive Director of All Peoples Community Center
